K-Cup Review – Coffee People Black Tiger

26 Apr, 2010 Coffee,K-Cup Reviews

Thanks to our friends at Appliance Insider, I received the Coffee People Black Tiger K-Cup. The packaging is striking, a tiger’s eyes with the bengal colors on the foil. Popped it in my Keurig Platinum B70 and the aroma popped- bold and powerful. I knew from the get go this blend was going to be strong. I brewed this cup on the middle (8oz) setting and drank it black.

This coffee is perfect for people that complain that K-Cups are too weak. The flavor is strong but not bitter, and resembles a house blend that you’d find at a coffee shop or Starbucks. So far this is my favorite blend of Coffee People, a lot more tolerable than Jet Fuel.

From Coffee People Website:

Explore the dark side with this full-bodied, dark-roasted Coffee People favorite. Earthy, with a pungent aroma. Extra bold.

Final Thoughts
While Black Tiger isn’t nearly the ferocious brew the description would have one believe (it’s not going to wake you up with a morning mauling or anything), it was certainly a pleasant surprise and much more drinkable than I expected it to be.

Although it’s listed as a dark roast (I’m not buying that), its medium roasted, easy drinking flavor is more than enough to supplant Donut Shop Coffee (a good cup in its own right) as my thus-far-favorite from the Coffee People label. While this kitty may not have the claws that dark roast lovers demand, medium roast lovers should definitely give it a try.
